Claudia Bugiardini (Deiulio) was one of Mountaineer athletics most recognized athletes on the women's basketball court. Claudia was an instrumental part of the women's basketball team that captured OCAA gold medals in 1986 and 1987. In her first season, 1985-1986, Claudia led her Mountaineer team to a bronze medal at the CCAA Women's Basketball Championships. In the 1986-1987 season, Claudia was the OCAA scoring champion and was named a CCAA All-Canadian, leading her team to a CCAA fourth-place finish. In all three years, Claudia was selected as an OCAA FirstTeam All-Star. Claudia's athletic contribution also included her involvement as varsity representative with the Students' Athletics Committee for the 1986-1987 academic year.
