Lisa Buscombe (Bertoncini) was the first athlete ever to be inducted into the Mohawk Mountaineer Hall of Fame. Competing in Archery, Lisa won OCAA gold medals in both the individual and team competition in 1977 and 1978. She captured the Mohawk College Outstanding Female Athlete Award twice and the Dr. Mitminger Award in 1978. Lisa went on to further heights representing Canada internationally, winning the World Championships, in 1984 and 1985. Lisa was also inducted into the Canadian Amateur Sports Hall of Fame in 1985.
