Nicholas Petrella

Nicholas Petrella

Nick grew up in Southern Ontario where he was a competitive athlete in three sports: Hockey, Football and Lacrosse. Many surgeries and countless concussions had a devastating impact on his athletic career both physically and emotionally, leading to a difficult decision to no longer play competitive sport and focus on academics and coaching.

He has coached High School Football as a Defensive Coordinator where the team earned a Provincial Championship. Nick has also been previously employed as an Assistant Coach and Head Scout for the Brock University Women’s Hockey team for multiple seasons and is currently the Assistant Coach of the Mohawk Mountaineers Women’s Volleyball Team and Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Mohawk Mountaineers Varsity Athletes.

Nick has been working in the health and fitness industry for over 20 years and has earned the following credentials; Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and Human Performance, COREFX Master Trainer, TriggerPoint Master Trainer, LesMills International RPM Indoor Cycling Instructor, Registered Health and Exercise Practitioner and Health Coach.

Coach Schnarr on Petrella: "Nick has been with the program since I moved into the role and he has been an integral member on the staff."

"Nick's expertise is in strength and conditioning but his impact goes far beyond that. Nick is a family man who bring those values to the program. He is empathetic and a listener for when the athletes need it most."
