One of two OCAA semi-final matches on Friday night will be a rematch from a year ago, as the Mohawk Mountaineers will play the Durham Lords at 8 p.m. at Sheridan College's Oakville campus.

The match will be streamed on OCAA Live.  

The Matchup:

The Mountaineers have found themselves in the OCAA semi-final match for the second consecutive year after they defeated the Canadore Panthers 3-0 in the qualifying round last weekend and then won 3-0 against the Conestoga Condors in the quarterfinals.

Durham – the one seed out of the OCAA East division – won both their first two playoff games 3-0 as well, beating the Fanshawe Falcons and Sheridan Bruins.

Playoff History:

The 2022-23 OCAA semifinals feature three of the four teams who made it this far last year, with the Mountaineers, Lords and Humber Hawks. Mohawk last year won the silver medal while Durham took home bronze.

Over the last three seasons, the Lords have won two bronze medals and won four medals over the last seven OCAA seasons.

What Happened Last Time:

In the OCAA semi-final match last year the Mountaineers came out on top over the Lords 3-1 (25-15, 19-25, 25-14, 25-21).

What's on the Line:

A win means a chance at the OCAA gold. Winner will play the winner of the semi-final match between the Humber Hawks and the Seneca Sting.
