It was a quick trip to North Bay, ON for Mohawk Mountaineers women's volleyball as they swept the Canadore Panthers 3-0 in an OCAA crossover playoff match.

With the victory the Mountaineers advance to the OCAA Championship tournament. This makes it five consecutive seasons Mohawk has been one of the final eight remaining teams in the OCAA.

Head coach Kelsey Kovar said the team's good performance is based on a collective effort.

"We played together as a unit today," Kovar said. "We followed our game plan and served tough. We controlled the pace of the game and executed skills pretty consistently. "

Mohawk will head to Oakville, ON between Feb. 23-25 to play in the OCAA Championships – hosted by the Sheridan Bruins – with the Conestoga Condors being their quarterfinal opponent. Match start time is still to be determined.
