Mohawk Mountaineers and the women's volleyball program is excited to officially announce Chelsea Vanderwal (Waterdown, ON) has committed to the team for the 2022-23 season.

Vanderwal is no stranger to the Hamilton area having attended high school only 10 minutes from the Mohawk Fennell campus at Guido De Brès Christian High School and played club for the Ancaster Lions.

Joining the Mountaineers, Vanderwal will add to an already strong setter group with returning athlete Stephanie Karatsolias (Milton, ON) and incoming recruit Olivia Rogers (Hamilton, ON).

"Mohawk interested me for the volleyball program and the hands-on opportunity," Vanderwal said. "I hope to provide the team with leadership, friendship and competitiveness."

Vanderwal will enroll in the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant program at Mohawk College beginning in September.
