Mountaineers to play for OCAA bronze on Saturday

Mohawk Mountaineers men's volleyball could not stop the back-to-back OCAA Champion Humber Hawks, losing the OCAA semi-final match 3-1 (15-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16).

The Mountaineers will now play the Cambrian Golden Shield in the OCAA bronze medal match on Feb. 25.

Mohawk showed fight in the second set to nearly tie the match at 1-1, but Humber strung together consistent points to hold off the Mountaineers. In the third set Mohawk was able to string together consistent points to get the win, but a Humber fourth set run ended the match.

Anthony Beijes (Hamilton, ON) took home OCAA Player of the Game honours with 24 kills. Peter Pilling (St. Catharines, ON) assisted on 38 plays.

The bronze medal match will take place at Fanshawe College with a 4:30 p.m. start.
