Nick Milanovic joins the Mountaineers men’s soccer program with two decades of coaching experience, in addition to an extensive playing career.

The Hamilton, ON native played collegiate-level soccer at Laurentian University where he won two OUA championships and a CIS bronze medal with the Voyageurs. As an individual, Milanovic was honoured with two OUA first team all-star awards and two CIS first team all-star awards.

He twice led the OUA in goals scored in a single season.

In 2002, Milanovic and the 1989 Laurentian men’s soccer team – which won the OUA title and a CIS bronze – were inducted into the Voyageurs hall of fame.

He also played professionally in the Canadian Soccer League and the United States Independent Soccer League. Further, Milanovic once won the men’s Ontario Cup Soccer Championship and a silver at the Canadian Men’s National Championships.

The 1998 Hamilton Serbians squad, which Milanovic was a part of, was inducted into the Hamilton Soccer Hall of Fame.

In 20 years of coaching, Milanovic has coached youth rep level under-8, U-18 Saltfleet Go-Ahead and the Hamilton Serbians, he has won four regional gold medals as a high school boys’ varsity coach.

As well as being an assistant with the Mountaineers, Milanovic is the current head coach for the Hamilton Serbians of the Ontario Soccer League.
