Mohawk men's soccer season comes to an end following a 1-0 loss against the Conestoga Condors in the opening round of the OCAA playoffs.

The Condors winning goal came in the eighth minute of the first half from Daniel Amorim, and from there the Kitchener squad never looked back.

The Mountaineers didn't perform as expected, particularly as the higher seed in the match.

"We started slow. That's what hurt us," said head coach Jordan Brown. "Too many people not focusing on the right things at the right times."

Mohawk did start to control the ball in the second half, but didn't generate enough scoring chances in the end.

"We had the ball for most of the second half, but I think that we didn't use the time of possession as well as we should have done," Brown said. "We were trying to rush things as we were one goal down."

The Mountaineers future looks bright following a 2-2-2 season and a playoff berth. This was Brown's first season as head coach of the program and the roster was filled with athletes you had never played together before.

"Where the group was coming into the season, to where it is now, it is in a much better position," Brown said. "We got some good players and we do a lot of good things. We will be a playoff team every season moving forward."
