HAMILTON, ON - Mohawk Mountaineers men's basketball is excited to announce its first recruit of 2023 with the commitment of shooting guard Charlie Hennessy.

The Mountaineers program is entering a new era with Jamie Girolametto taking over head coaching duties from the retired Brian Jonker. Hennessy becomes the first recruit under Girolametto.

"Charlie comes from a basketball family," Girolametto said. "He possesses a great basketball IQ and is fundamentally sound."

Hennessy is from the Windsor, ON area where he attended Honourable W.C. Kennedy Collegiate. The 6'4 guard will provide Mohawk's already strong perimeter offense with even more shooting from beyond the arc.

"He has good size for a guard and shoots the ball very well," added Girolametto. "We expect him to compete for minutes and help us out."

Hennessy will come to Mohawk in September and study in the Business program.
