Windsor, ON The Mohawk Mountaineers and George Brown Huskies will compete in the OCAA semi-final on March 4 at 4 p.m. for a spot in the OCAA Championship. The winner will also clinch a spot to the CCAA National Championship in Calgary, AB.

OCAA Live will have the action available to stream.

The Matchup:

The Mountaineers first trip to the OCAA Championship since the 2015-16 is off to a good start following a 93-81 win over the defending champion Humber Hawks.

George Brown found themselves trailing in their OCAA quarter-final game versus the Niagara Knights after the first half, but completed the second half comeback, winning 74-61.

The Huskies in regular season play finished with a 17-1 record and currently hold an 18 game win streak when including playoffs.

Playoff History:

Mohawk will look to reach the OCAA Championship game for the first time since 2015-16, which was also the last time they played in the semi-final game.

George Brown has built a strong basketball program over the last few seasons, winning the OCAA Championship in 2019-20. They have two provincial medals in the last five seasons.

What Happened Last Time:

The Mountaineers and Huskies played each other twice earlier this year in exhibition action and split the two games. George Brown came out on top in an October matchup 82-68 played at Sheridan College. The two would then play an epic overtime game in January that saw Mohawk win 108-106.

It was the Huskies who were victorious the last time these two met in the playoffs, which dates back to February 24, 2018 when George Brown beat Mohawk in a qualifying playoff game 86-76.

What's Next:

Winner of this game will play in the OCAA Championship game on March 5 and get an automatic spot to the CCAA National Championship tournament.
