HAMILTON, ON – On Monday afternoon the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) announced the 2023 women's softball schedule, which features the Mohawk Mountaineers competing in 24 regular season games beginning early September.

The Mountaineers will open their season with a doubleheader at Mohawk Sports Park Diamond 1 on Sept. 9 when they host the Durham Lords at 1:30 p.m. followed by the Sheridan Bruins at 4:00 p.m.

Mohawk's schedule then becomes road heavy as they will immediately follow-up their home opener with six consecutive games on the road. First, they travel to Sarnia, ON for a doubleheader on Sept. 10 that will feature the Fanshawe Falcons in the opening game and the Lambton Lions on the backend, and then six days later on Sept. 16 the Mountaineers will be back in Sarnia for two additional games against the Lions. The road trip ends Sept. 17 in Windsor, ON with a doubleheader versus the St. Clair Saints.

Additional home dates for the Mountaineers include a doubleheader versus the Durham Lords on Sept. 21, hosting the Saints and Seneca Sting for one game each on Sept. 24, a doubleheader on Sept. 28 versus the Bruins, then the Sting return for two on Oct. 4, and lastly the season wraps up on Oct. 12 at home against the Falcons.
