Millen becomes second softball addition ahead of 2023 season

The Mohawk Mountaineers women's softball program is excited to announce the addition of Danika Millen for the upcoming 2023 season.

Out of Milton, ON, Millen will add infield depth to the Mountaineers program, which is working hard to rebuild its roster under a new coaching staff that's focused on leading the team to provincial relevance.

Head coach Chris McColl sees Millen's work ethic being an important piece to the team's overall build.

"She's going to fit into the team mold seamlessly and her athletic abilities will help us instantly on the field," McColl said.

While a primary infielder, McColl added that Millen can play just about everywhere and is exceptional defensively.

"Offensively, she's a threat every time she's in the batters box," McColl added. "It elevates our team another level."

Millen is excited to play under the new Mohawk coaching staff and looks forward to the education she will receive at the college.

"I'm hoping to bring positivity and great teamwork to Mohawk," Millen said. "I look forward to getting to know my teammates and building a strong bond."

Millen has been playing club softball with Toronto Fastpitch since 2018, and previously was a member of the Halton Hawks – winning two provincial championships and finishing second at the national level with the Hawks.

Beginning her studies in September, Millen will be enrolled in the Business program at Mohawk.
