Betty Calic

Betty Calic

Betty Calic has been coaching with the Mountaineers since 2010 and found success early on, winning an OCAA silver in her first year.

Calic started her coaching career with the Mountaineers as an assistant under head coach Barry Macklin, who ultimately was the one that helped Calic find her passion for the sport of Curling, as well as coaching the game.

When Macklin retired from the curling program, there was no need to look elsewhere for his replacement as Calic was the perfect fit to carry on with the success her and Macklin had brought to Mohawk.

Calic, a Hamilton native, has won a total of six OCAA medals during her Mountaineers career: two gold, two silver and two bronze.

It was in the 2021/22 season, Calic captured double gold with the Mountaineers men's and mixed doubles teams winning the OCAA Championship.
