Mountaineers Hall of Fame

The Mohawk Mountaineers Hall of Fame, established in 1988, recognizes outstanding athletic accomplishments and contributions by individuals since 1967.

Recognized categories include:

  • Athlete
  • Builder
  • Coach
  • Team

Athlete hall of famers

Athletes: Must have competed in the OCAA for a minimum of two (2) seasons, be a graduate of their college, and be inactive from OCAA competition for a minimum of three (3) years.   Athletes shall be chosen based on their athletic skills and abilities, fair play, leadership, individual statistics, and team accomplishments both while in the OCAA and/or at a higher level after their college career. 

 

Builder Hall of Famers

Builders:

May be active or inactive in the Association, but must have served as an executive committee member, convenor, and/or committee chair with the OCAA for a minimum of seven (7) years.  The seven-year requirement may be waived under special circumstances and at the discretion and unanimous approval of the Hall of Fame Committee.  Candidates shall be chosen on the basis of distinguishing themselves through their extraordinary and/or exceptional contributions to the development and advancement of the OCAA as a member of the executive committee, as a convenor, or as a committee chair, and for their devotion to the OCAA.

 

Coach Hall of Famers

Coaches: Must have coached a minimum of seven years (7) in the OCAA and be inactive for a minimum of two (2) seasons.  The seven-year requirement may be waived under special circumstances and at the discretion and unanimous approval of the Hall of Fame Committee.  Coaches shall be chosen based on their ability to develop athletes, the success of their teams and/or athletes, as well as their integrity, fair play, leadership, and commitment to their college and the OCAA.
