Financial Aid

As a Mountaineer, it's important to have a realistic set of expectations regarding the expenses associated with being a full-time student-athlete. In addition to your tuition fees, you will also need to budget for books, supplies, housing, and other related living expenses. You may be able to supplement your income and savings with scholarships, bursaries, loans or campus employment so it pays to do some research into what types of financial assistance you may qualify for.

Access to financial assistance is available to all Mohawk student-athletes in the following forms:

Athletic Scholarships

The Mountaineer high-performance varsity program offers athletic scholarships to attract and retain student-athletes who have demonstrated a commitment and dedication to excellence in academics, athletics and community.

Scholarships are allocated by the Head Coach and approved by the Athletic Director. As per OCAA regulations, the maximum amount a student-athlete may receive is $1,500 per semester of competition with a maximum amount per calendar year not to exceed $3,000.

Two-semester sports: Basketball, Volleyball (max $3000.00)

One-semester sports: Soccer, Rugby, Softball, Cross Country, Curling (max $1500.00)

Additional Bursaries and Scholarships

Each semester, complete your Financial Assistance Profile to be considered for all awards, bursaries and scholarships available through Mohawk College. The application opens before the start of every semester at mohawkcollege.ca/financialprofile.
