Ray Williams

The 2022-23 season will be Ray Williams first year as Lead Assistant Coach with the Mountaineers women's basketball program.

Williams previously served as an assistant coach for the UTM women’s basketball program from 2017-2020 and had a two-year stint with the Georgia Southern women's basketball program as a graduate assistant. 

She was also an assistant basketball coach for the Brampton Warriors for the 2012-2013 season and taught with the Peel District School Board.

Williams was a four-year letter winner at the University of New Hampshire (NCAA Division I) where she earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology. 

Following post-secondary, Williams played professionally in Denmark from 2008 to 2009 before returning to her native, Canada.

She also holds the title of varsity academic coach with Mohawk's Department of Athletics and Recreation. Prior to joining the Mountaineers athletic staff, Williams served as an Athletic Academic Advisor at Florida A&M University where she was responsible for facilitating the academic success and eligibility for the varsity program. 

Williams has a Bachelor's in Education from the University of Toronto, OISE and a Master's in Social Science from Georgia Southern University. She is excited to bring her passion for academics and athlete development to the program, supporting student-athletes both in the classroom and in their sport.
