Klesey Kovar joins the Mountaineers in the role of Recreation and Student Engagement Coordinator. 

She is no stranger to the Mountaineer family as she played for the women's volleyball team during the 2018-19 season and graduated from the college in the Recreation Therapy program.

Prior to her time as a Mohawk student, Kovar studied Exercise Science at Valdosta State University (NCAA Division II) between 2012-14 while playing on the women's volleyball team. She returned to Canada in 2014 to attend Humber College in the Fitness and Health Promotion program while playing volleyball as well before coming to Mohawk.

Kovar would continue her studies at Brock University where she studied Recreation and Leisure Studies.

Her work experience consists of working in the community helping people find their interests and recreation passions, using a holistic approach to health and wellness. She also has varied experiences working in community settings with a focus on serving individuals with various mental health concerns.

These experiences include working as a Community Recreation Worker for the Canadian Mental Health Association – Hamilton between 2017-20 and as a Wellness Coach and Community Mental Health Worker for Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes with the Steps to Health Program.
