HAMILTON, ON – On Friday afternoon the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) announced its 2023-24 women's and men's basketball schedules, which will see both Mohawk Mountaineer teams begin the season on October 20.
The Mountaineer men's team will play an 18-game sked with an additional team in their division, while the women will play 16 games.
To start the season Mohawk will travel to Niagara to play the Knights with a 6 p.m. tip-off for the women and the men's game starting at 8 p.m.
Both teams will host their home opener on Oct. 25 inside the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre (DBARC) against the Conestoga Condors. Start times will also be 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
For the men, their additional two games – which will be against the Canadore Panthers – will be played on the road on Oct. 28 and at home on January 27.
That game will be followed up with the Mohawk's annual Super Saturday event on November 4, which is when the Mountaineers host two volleyball and two basketball games on the same day. Mohawk will host the Redeemer Royals for all four contests with women's basketball kicking things off at 1 p.m. and men's basketball set to play at 3 p.m.
