HAMILTON, ON – The 2023 soccer schedule for the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) was officially announced Tuesday afternoon, which will see both the Mohawk Mountaineers women's team and the men's squad compete in 10 regular season matches.
Both teams will play identical schedules with the only difference being start times as the women will play first on nine of the 10 match days.
The season for Mountaineers soccer begins September 9 when they travel to London, ON to play the Fanshawe Falcons. The women's match kicks-off at 12 p.m. and the men follow at 2 p.m.
Mohawk's first home game will be Sept. 13 when the Niagara Knights make the trip up the QEW to Hamilton. With it being a weekday contest, the women will have a 6 p.m. start and the men are set for 8 p.m. The Mountaineers and Knights will eventually meet again on Oct. 10 to closeout the regular season in Niagara.
The only time the Mountaineer men will play first is on Sept. 16 against the Humber Hawks with a 2 p.m. start, and the women will follow at 4 p.m.
Additional home dates for Mohawk will include the Lambton Lions on Sept. 22 followed by the St. Clair Saints on Sept. 23, the Mountaineers will be home to the Redeemer Royals on Sept. 27 and the last home contest will be Oct. 11 with the Conestoga Condors visiting.
Other road games for Mohawk will include playing the Condors on Sept. 30 and the Sheridan Bruins on Oct. 7.
