The Mohawk Mountaineers are excited to continue to collaborate with Mohawk College's Broadcasting – Television and Communications program as well as partner with Cable 14 Hamilton to bring the best coverage of the 2023 CCAA Women's Basketball National Championship.

Tournament play will take place between March 15-18 inside the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre at Mohawk's Fennell campus. All 13 National championship games will be streamed on the CCAA YouTube account, while Cable 14 Hamilton will pickup five games that will be aired on the local channel.

"Mountaineers Athletics has had a great relationship with the Mohawk Broadcast Program for a number of years and every year the students have done a tremendous job producing all our varsity home games," said Mountaineers Sports Information Coordinator, Satbir Singh. "I have no doubt that they will provide the best streaming coverage the CCAA has seen."

"We know with the quality of content Cable 14 has brought to the Hamilton Bulldogs and other local sport organizations, they will be a big help ensuring our CCAA Nationals is right up there in production excellence," Singh added.

The full production over the course of the four days will be conducted by second-year Mohawk Broadcast students with assistance from Cable 14 Hamilton.

"Hosting this Championship event, will provide an opportunity for our Broadcast Television students to share the skills that they have learned and the developing mastery of their craft with a national audience," said Patrick Hanson, Program Coordinator Mohawk's Broadcasting – Television and Communications Media program.

Cable 14 Hamilton will assist with the streaming of every tournament game, and air the Mountaineers quarterfinal game on March 15, the two gold medal semi-final games and both medal games on their respective channel.

"Cable 14 is proud to be partnering with Mohawk College Broadcasting students, as well as the Mountaineers Athletic department to provide end to end coverage of the CCAA Women's Basketball Championship," said Brendan Nickolau, Cable 14 Supervisor of Sports Programming and Mobile.

The broadcast will feature the voice of the highly talented play-by-play announcer Matt Bonomi. Since 2016, Bonomi has done play-by-play for the Ontario University Athletics (OUA), specifically for the sport of basketball, winning OUA Commentator of the Year in 2020. He has also done work for the 2022 Canada Summer Games and the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
