Mohawk Mountaineers are proud to announce Ashley Lof and Will Summers as the Athletes of the Week, in partnership with the Mohawk Students' Association, for the week of Oct. 24-30.
Lof (Beamsville, ON) and the women's cross country team captured an OCAA Championship bronze medal this past week – it was the programs first podium finish since 1996. Individually, Lof finished ninth and was named to the OCAA All-Ontario Second Team. The fourth-year runner has been named an All-Ontario athlete in each of her four years of running for Mohawk.
Will Summers (Hamilton, ON) placed 19th in the men's OCAA Championship race and qualified for CCAA Nationals. The second-year runner and the Mountaineers men's team finished fifth out of 15 teams, 16-points shy of a bronze medal.
Summers will be competing at the national race for the second consecutive year.
