Under the watchful eye of Mohawk and OCAA Hall of Fame Coach Earl Begg, the Mountaineers ran the table in the regular season finishing with a perfect 14-0 record. They then dismantled St. Clair 89-55 in the semi finals, before dispatching arch-rival Fanshawe 75-65 in the OCAA Gold Medal game. The Mohawk women then captured their first national bronze medal in women’s basketball. In fact they became the first Ontario College side to win a medal of any kind at the CCAA Championship. The Mountaineers beat Douglas 70-56 in the bronze medal game.
