The OCAA quarter-final matchup between the Mohawk Mountaineers and Conestoga Condors will likely be a back-and-forth battle. Scheduled to played at 6 p.m. on Feb. 23 at Sheridan College in Oakville, ON.

The Matchup:

Mohawk advanced to the quarter-final following a 3-0 road playoff win over the Canadore Panthers. Going back to regular season play, the Mountaineers have won five games in a row, tying their season-high for consecutive victories.

The Condors have won four in a row, including a playoff victory last weekend over La Cite, winning 3-0. Conestoga wrapped up the 2022-23 season with a 14-4 record and second-best in the OCAA West.

Playoff History:

The Mountaineers are coming off a season a year ago that saw them advance to the OCAA gold medal match. A win over Conestoga means Mohawk will have a shot at a medal game once again.

This is the Condors first trip to the OCAA Championship tournament since the 2013-14 season, but the program has been on the rise the last couple seasons and is a prime contender this year.

What Happened Last Time:

Mohawk and Conestoga have met twice already this year. The Condors won the first match 3-1 back in November on their home court, and Mohawk returned the favour earlier this month inside the DBARC, winning 3-1.

What's on the Line:

Whoever comes out of this match as the winner will play the winner of the Durham and Sheridan quarter-final match.
