
With an opportunity to appear in the OCAA semifinals for the first time since 2016-17, Mohawk Mountaineers men's volleyball must get passed the Georgian Grizzlies first. The OCAA quarter-final match takes place at 3 p.m. on Feb. 23 at Fanshawe College.

The Matchup:
The Mountaineers enter the contest after defeating the Durham Lords 3-0 in the OCAA qualifying round. Mohawk handled business pretty quickly versus the Lords, winning the three sets 25-17, 25-18 and 25-18.
Georgian comes in as the best team out of the OCAA East, finishing regular season with a 15-3 record. To get to the quarter-final round, the Grizzlies came through with a five set victory over the Sheridan Bruins.
Playoff History:
Despite making it to the quarter-finals a season ago, this is the first-time since 2016-17 the Mountaineers will compete at the OCAA Championship tournament as last season saw the championship limited to the final four teams.
The Grizzlies have pieced together a winning record in the last seven seasons, reaching the OCAA semifinals three times.
What Happened Last Time:
That 2016-17 season was the last time Mohawk and Georgian met. The Mountaineers had to defeat the Grizzlies to advance to the OCAA gold medal match, which they did 3-0.
What's on the Line:
The winner of this match will play the winner of the match between the Humber Hawks and Algonquin Wolves, which takes place at 1 p.m. on Feb. 23.
